A. Campers of all disabilities are welcome at Camp Krem. Campers who typically attend experience Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Asperger Sydrome, ADHD and other physical, emotional or developmental disabilities. We welcome children aged 5 years and older and adults of any age, regardless of disabilities. We can also accommodate most medical conditions and behaviors, but may require one-to-one supervision.
A. Camp Krem offers both a residential summer camp and a year-round respite program. During the summer months, we offer Main Camp (traditional camp programs), Outdoor Adventure Camp (for more independent and adventurous campers, with sleeping in tipis or under the stars, and an active adventure program), and Travel Camp programs. Click here to see our summer programs and schedule. In addition, we offer a one-, two- or three-day trip virtually every weekend. Click here to see our year-round programs and schedule.
A. From June through August, there will be at least 10 sessions available, 5, 7, 10 and 12 days each of all three types of camp programs.
A. Choose a session within the age & time guidelines that best meets your camper needs. Our staff can also assist you selecting an appropriate session for your camper if needed.
A. “Fees for Main Camp and Travel Camp are $150 per day. Parents may self-pay or request full or partial funding from outside agencies, ie., Regional Centers, ARC etc. Regional Centers pay for 21 days of “out-of- home” respite which covers most but not all of that amount. Parents must pay the rest. However, we have a generous “campership” program for families which lack the financial means to pay the difference. Outdoor Adventure Camp is $120 per day. Typically, this is fully paid by a Regional Center “Purchase of Services”.

Our year-round weekend program is $130 per day, most of which can be paid by a Regional Center Purchase of Service.

Campers requiring one-to- one supervision are charged and additional $60 per day, of which Regional Centers typically pay $50. Camperships may be available to pay the difference, if financial hardship prevents the family from doing so.

A. Camp Krem is vendored by the Regional Center of the East Bay, which allows any Regional Center to issue a “Purchases of Service Authorization” which pays a portion of the fee. Parents must call the agencies directly to request funding well before camp begins. The agencies must send us an authorization indicating the monies they will pay on your camper’s behalf prior to your child attending. All fees are must be paid in full before camp, or a written authorization received from an agency that camp fees will be paid. Please telephone us with any questions about how to apply for Regional Center funding and what your legal rights are.

Camperships (financial aid) may be available. Please contact the Registrar at 510-222- 6662 for a Campership Application.
