Alex has been our Head Cook since June of 2015, and works hard to provide healthy, delicious and varied meals to our campers and staff during the summer and at our Year-Round Respite Program overnights. She is experienced at accommodating various dietary restrictions. Alex also enjoys teaching the campers about cooking and kitchen clean up as part of our Work Experience Program.
“Filling bellies has become a passion of mine since I first came to Camp in 2015. For me, cooking is a great way to be creative; I’m learning a lot about different kinds of food and all the different ways to create a dish. Our campers, staff, and animals have all shown me so much in my time here and have helped me to grow and learn in ways I never thought possible. I came out to camp from Port Huron, Michigan with intentions to stay for the summer but I never left! The environment, people, and experiences will always have a place in my heart.”
