The yearly trip to Apple Hill is now a tradition with Camp Krem and this year did not disappoint! On Friday we made it to our favorite Apple Hill campsite- KOA of Placerville! We settled into our cabins, made dinner together and enjoyed a relaxing night in watching a movie and enjoying each others company.

On Saturday we awoke bright and early to head out to the farms! Our first stop- Kidz Inc. There we hiked through the apple orchards, visited with the farm animals, found our way out of the corn maze and rewarded ourselves with some delicious homemade apple pie! Afterwards we visited High Hill Ranch and Fudge Factory to shop around at the different food and craft vendors. Later than night a few of us visited the Red Hawk Casino to play some arcade games. We slept well after cashing in our tickets for fun prizes!

On Sunday we took it slowly and had a huge breakfast with pancakes, bacon, cereal, eggs, and all the fixings! Later in the morning we travelled down the road to Old Hangtown’s Gold Bug Park and Mine to check out a real gold mine! We learned about the rocks that were mined there and about the equipment they used back in the day for mining! Later in the afternoon we returned back to the KOA to enjoy the facilities there including mini golf, swings, walking paths, and a mini petting zoo! After dinner we spent our night at the movies where everyone enjoyed seeing Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

On Monday morning we woke up to another full breakfast! We cleaned and packed up and headed to the Jelly Belly Factory where we took a yummy tour before heading home! We cannot wait until next year’s Apple Hill trip!
