A Note from the Directors
Dear Friends & Supporters of Camp Krem,
Summer is just around the corner and we can already feel the excitement in the air! In a mere 38 days, Camp will be buzzing with happy campers and staff, ready to embark on what we hope is their best summer ever!
In order to get Camp in tip-top shape, we are having our annual Work Weekend and are calling all volunteers to help us get things ready!
We also hope to see you at our Open House on May 13th. This is a great opportunity for new and old Camp families to come along, meet the staff, ask questions and take a tour. See below for more information about both of these events. Please RSVP if you plan on attending either.
Christina Krem & Katie Giampa
- Enrollment is still open for most of our summer sessions, though spaces are filling fast! If you haven’t already registered your camper, you can do so here.
- We are pleased to announce that our Year-Round Respite Program will be continuing throughout the summer, with one day trip scheduled for each month!
- Construction on the Janet Von Der Linn Memorial cabin is well underway and we look forward to being able to use it this summer!
- Our new playground equipment is being shipped to Camp as we speak! Watch this space!
Upcoming Events at Camp
April 28-30: Do-It-Ourselves Fest
This weekend DIO Fest is renting our property for a three-day music, art & camping festival. Organized by Jonathan LaBeaud (past Camp Krem Year-Round Program Director) and Steven Stubblefield, the 5th annual DIO Fest has an amazing line-up of talented musicians and is sure to be an amazing weekend. Tickets will be on sale until the end of the day — get them here!
May 6-7, 2017: Work Day
Calling all volunteers! This is our biggest work party of the year and we could use all hands on deck! We will be spending the weekend preparing Camp Krem for the Summer — there is always plenty to be done and we would love your help.
We will be working on a variety of tasks, skilled and unskilled.
Snacks and refreshments provided. Those who are able to commit to helping on Saturday and Sunday are welcome to spend the night in a cabin.
Please email Layla, Camp Administrator, to let us know you’ll be there.
May 13, 2017: Open House
Come take a tour, meet our staff, learn about our different programs, ask any questions you may have and meet fellow campers and their families.
Snacks and refreshments will provided. This is a great opportunity for first-time/prospective campers and their families to familiarize themselves with Camp Krem, as well as for old friends to stop by and say hello. All are welcome! Email us to RSVP.
Sophia started volunteering at Camp two and a half years ago and is loved by our campers! She works full-time as a technical recruiter and is a model, yet still finds time to volunteer on many of our weekend trips!A real altruist, not only does Sophia spend many weekends helping us, she also volunteers with A Walk on Water, an organization which takes children with special needs surfing and works with Shark Stewards to save sharks and protect our oceans. In addition, she tutors visiting scholars every week at UC Berkeley.
One of Sophia’s favorite things about Camp Krem is the opportunity to see the campers thrive in an environment that allows them to come as they are. She keeps coming back because the campers give her so much happiness and she learns so much from them.
Thank you, Sophia!
