CZU Lightning Complex Fire - One Year Later

This week marks one year since the CZU Lightning Complex wildfire, during which our beloved Camp Krem was almost completely destroyed. It has been, for us and so many in our mountain community, a year of challenges and heartache. Yet, throughout the past year, we have also been so touched by the outpouring of love, support and generosity countless people have shown our organization. To everyone who has reached out, shared, and donated, thank you.

Our hearts go out to everyone in our community who suffered losses in the fire, and who continue to deal with the difficult aftermath.

Some members of our staff will be attending a community remembrance event this evening at the Brookdale Lodge. You are welcome to attend. Click on the image below for more details. Proof of vaccination, or negative Covid test, will be required, as well as masks.

Progress Update

Over the last year, we have been making progress slowly but surely! Our property has been cleaned up, we are working with a dedicated group of volunteers, architects, engineers, surveyors etc. We have a new security gate installed, and expect to have water and power restored soon. We now have secure storage for rebuilding tools, and our temporary office will be delivered any day now. We are eligible for some funding from FEMA, and continue to do all we can to work with FEMA and CalOES to move our rebuild forward. Our meetings with the building department are proceeding smoothly.

We have a long way to go, but remain as committed as ever to bringing Camp Krem back from the ashes. With your support, our campers will once again be back on "the hill" experiencing the magic of Camp with their friends. We can hardly wait!

You can support our rebuilding efforts by making a donation to our Rebuild Fund at
