Black Lives Matter

On behalf of our organization, we commit, with our words and our actions, to:

  • Stand against police brutality.
  • Stand against racism.
  • Stand against the systemic injustice, violence and oppression that targets Black Americans in this country.
  • Stand with those advocating for legislation, policy and societal changes to end these injustices.

  • Stand with those advocating for legislation, policy and societal changes to end these injustices.

  • Work to actively create space for people of color.

We strive to ensure that Camp Krem is a safe, inclusive and loving space for everyone. This has always been one of the guiding principles of our organization. Yet, we can always do better. We must do better. We are currently asking ourselves some important questions so that we may continue to do the important work of fighting racism and discrimination in all forms.

  1. Is our camp a welcoming environment that campers and staff of color can feel welcomed by their peers?
  2. What can we do to ensure campers of color feel accepted into an environment that may be different from what they’re used to?
  3. How can we work to invite campers and staff of color to our community and how can we better reach out to communities of color?
  4. What are active resources to help our staff members understand diversity and how to address prejudice in a proactive way?
  5. What training can we offer our staff to ensure that prejudice and micro-aggressions do not happen at Camp Krem?
  6. What can we do to dismantle the cultural dominance of whiteness and promote inclusion within the outdoors?
  7. How can we show that our organization is an ally and that we are willing to learn and to listen?

We are committed to doing better. We look forward to continuing in community with you and we welcome your thoughts. Feel free to email campkrem@campingunlimited.org
